Final Exam Information

The final examination in Physical Education is administered throughout the year. Unit Teachers must complete Two (2) components for each of the three marking periods. There will be six (6) individual skill tests administered to each student. Each skill will be graded from O to 12 in accordance with the Test Score Scale indicated. The third ur last unit teacher will then add up the test scores achieved for a Final Exam Subtotal. To this total will be added the number of points achieved on the Physical Fitness tests, ranging from O to 25. The teacher in administrating each of three fitness tests can award from O to 8 points for each fitness test, but may indicate a Bonus Point for effort to be added to the subtotal, with a maximum of two. Students may be given a total of three (3) Bonus points for the year for the final exam components and an additional two (2) Bonus points for the Fitness Test.

Test Score Scale

Technically Correct -12 points

Some Mechanics - 8 points

Poor Mechanics - 4 points

No Attempt - 0 points

If a student is medically excused for one component of a test, a teacher may elect to award that student with a point equivalent to the average of the other tests. If the medical excuse is to a majority of the testing the teacher can indicate an M.E.

The Physical Fitness Test administered during the first marking period will serve as a pre-test and count toward the first marking period participation grade. The tests administered at the end of the year will be part of the students Final Examination grade and entered on their report cards as part of their Total Final Examination.
