Parsippany Students Visit George Washington Bridge

Earlier this year, students in the Design Technology classes were assigned a bridge design project.  Once completed, each student’s bridge was then tested for structural integrity.

To enhance this classroom theory lesson, on April 5th about a dozen students received a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to tour and stand at the top of the George Washington Bridge.  While standing 600 ft. above the Hudson River, with views of New Jersey and New York City, they learned about the cutting edge architecture and engineering of this 87 year old structure.

The NJ/NY Port of Authority engineers and architects provided real life information and knowledge that impressed and had an impact on all in attendance.
